Varsity Volleyball perseveres, JV Volleyball dominates and C and Freshmen B Teams continue to move forward

Varsity: 9-20-22 Shawnee Mission East: 25-19 and 25-22 Shawnee Mission West: 25-18 and 25-20 The Varsity Blazer volleyball team took home two wins Tuesday evening against Shawnee Mission South and Shawnee Mission East. DS/Liberos Reese Kehl and Jadyn Padilla kept the Blazers ahead with stellar defense and serve receive passing. Setters Ryleigh Sander and Lana Chamongchith ran their offense efficiently and gave hitters an open net a majority of the time. Right side hitter Elise Hmielewski led the team in blocking to close out the win against Shawnee Mission East. We are looking forward to another night of competition on Thursday against Olathe East and Shawnee Mission West.

9/22/22 Olathe East: 25-21, 22-25, 21-25 Shawnee Mission Northwest: 18-25, 20-25 Varsity battled Olathe East and Shawnee Mission Northwest last night, ultimately losing to Olathe East in 3 and SMNW in 2. Blazers won the serve and pass game with Reese Kehl, Jadyn Padilla, and Paige Schesser leading the team. The offense struggled: however Elise Hmielewski and Raylee Saunders defended the net well with their blocking. Saturdayis tournament will be a battle as we travel to Rural for a tournament.!

Freshmen As

jy. are undefeated 9-20-22 Shawnee Mission West 25-15 & 25-5 Shawnee Mission East 25-11 & 25-14 JV took the win against both Shawnee Mission West and Shawnee Mission East 25-11 & 25-14. Aubrie Rhodes, Jarangelie Ayala and Payton Hofer lead the team in kills. Multiple aces from Kristana Chamnongchith, Sammie Reddin and Emma Bowman. The defense did an awesome job getting the balls up and playable. JV showed great teamwork, discipline and energy tonight.

09-22-22 Olathe East: 25-15, 27-25 Shawnee Mission Northwest: 25-13, 25-17 JV took home two wins Thursday evening against Olathe East and Shawnee Mission Northwest. The defense was aggressive and allowed the offense to be successful. Kristana Chamnongchith had great energy and passes. Faith Roussole had multiple blocks and kills. Aubrey Rhodes, Peyton Hofer and Jarangelie Ayala executed the ball every chance they got. I am proud of JV and how they played yesterday. This Saturday we have a tournament at Ottawa High School.

C-Team: 9/19/22 Shawnee Mission West: 25-14|29-27 Shawnee Mission East: 25-16 25-13 C Team showed mental toughness and strong teamwork Monday night when they took on Shawnee Mission West and Shawnee Mission East. Sophia Johnson and Maria Diaz blocked well for us. Kamry OiGara and Aubrianna Allen kept offense running smooth. The defense and serve receiving was solid all night due to Reese Schesser, Addison Comstock and Addison McClure. Lauren Groh’s hits continue to be consistent. Grace Fisher and Josie Wilson stepped up and got some kills. Everyone stepped up tonight and played their part. I’m so proud of their hard work.

9/21/22 Olathe East: 17-25. 22-25 Shawnee Mission Northwest: 25-7, 25-15 The girls battled hard against Olathe East. They fought both games but fell short.

C Team came back and beat Shawnee Mission Northwest in 2. 25-7, 25-15 Addison Comstock and Reese Schesser led the team in digs for the night.| Addison McClure had a 2.4 serve receive average. Lauren Groh led the team in kills. The setters did a great job at running different plays and the middles worked hard to block.

The Freshman B Blazers took 5th in the Wellsville Freshman Tournament. They fought hard and won three out of five games. The front row girls got big and had 32 kills. Josie Stroman and Macy Moore collectively had seven blocks. Payton Adrian, Alison Turner and Olivia O’Toole collectively had 27 aces.
