The Trailblazers Men’s soccer team competed last night. Both the JV & Varsity teams went head to head with the Olathe East Hawks away at the College Boulevard Activities Center. The Junior Varsity suffered another loss to bring their record to 3-2. The Junior Varsity team lost the contest 0-6. It was a disappointing result. The young men worked the entire match. Coach Jerad Gorney said about the match, “The JV guys are playing the game how we want them to play, but consistency hampered our buildup.” The Trailblazers Junior Varsity come off this loss once again looking to reassert their style of play and find ways to succeed in future contests as they have done in the past.

Next up was the Varsity team. They entered the match against a highly touted side. They were flying high from their most recent victory. Despite that high flying feeling the Hawks were soaring. The Hawks attacked with some speed and precision earning free kicks that were ultimately converted into goals. Coach Derek Wilson said of the contest, “The boys continue to have success when we play with the correct pace throughout the entire match. We simply need to get more creative up top and learn to defend set pieces better.” The conclusion of the match saw the Trailblazers swatted away by the Olathe East Hawks with a 0-3 scoreline to bring their record to 2-3 this season.

The GEHS Men’s Trailblazer soccer team will once again be blazing a path and attempting to scorch their opponents on Tuesday, September 13th versus the Lawrence High Lions with Junior Varsity playing first at 5:00pm and Varsity competing immediately after, playing at the Lawrence High
