4-H Kennedy Graham Club reporter Pioneer 4-H club bounced back in 2021 after a difficult two years due to the lockdowns. Happily new members joined in an effort to ex-plore opportunities in the community for serving, making new friends and enjoying all that 4-H projects have to offer.
The Johnson County Fair kicked off its first day Monday, August 1 with the 4-H Dog Shows. Ellie Ramsey won the 4-H Dog Club’s scholarship with her dog Indy.

Local residents came out to New Century Airport to participate in the 3rd Annual Law Dog 5k, 10k and Powerlifting event on July 9 at 7:30 am. Mayor Todd Winters and the Gardner Edgerton High School Cross Country Running Team were some of the participants.
Apparently the heat has gotten to a lot of us. Our water bills will be above average.
Gardner Gold Special Olympics held a fundraiser Saturday, July 3 outside of Cosentino’s Price Chopper. The rain didn’t stop people from purchasing $800 of hotdog lunch meals. A manager from Cosentino’s said it was the most a fundraiser outside their store had made so far this year. Gardner Gold is a Parks and Rec sponsored organization that anyone can join. The good ole days seems to be a recurring theme once you get past 50. Having never lived on a farm, I only have memories of town life in the summer.
