Coats for Kids
The 6th Annual Coats for Kids coat drivesponsoredbySouthwestJohnson County Cert was held last week. They dropped off coats, hats and gloves to the USD 231 school district office for distribution. The coat drive has been held every year at the Gardner Walmart location. CERT said The overwhelming support for the kids in the community was amazing. They also thanked Fire District #1 for their continued support.

Beta Sigma Phi hosting Chili & Soup Supper, raffle to benefit the GEHS Scholarship Fund
Gamma Xi chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will hold its annual Chili and Vegetable Soup Supper Monday, Nov. 28 at the Warren Place Event Center, 136 East Warren St., Gardner. This event is open to the public beginning at 4:30 p.m.

GEHS students selected to perform with KMEA Choir
Fourteen Gardner Edgerton students were selected to perform in the East Central KMEA District Honor Choirs in December. This was a rigorous audition that included auditioning on extremely challenging literature as well as a sight-singing portion.. Sight-singing means they had to accurately read and sing music that they’ve never seen before.
GEHS band members selected for ECKMEA Honor Band
The ECKMEA Honor Band auditions were Saturday, November 5. The GEHS band members represented well and the following students were selected to perform in one of the ECKMEA Honor Bands on Dec.

Gardner Gold Special Olympics honored at City Council
Mayor Todd Winters and city council members proclaimed Monday, November 7 as Gardner Gold Special Olympics Day. Winters said they are committed to providing residents of Gardner with developmental disabilities a place to experience activities many take for granted.
